A Dangerous Grip Above the Canyon
The dog’s front paws gripped the rough concrete edge of the massive bridge as cars sped past just inches away.
Suspended hundreds of feet above a winding river canyon, the golden pup barked repeatedly, looking back toward the open air.
His hind legs dangled uselessly against the vertical concrete wall, finding no purchase on the smooth surface.
Several drivers continued past, their tires humming against the asphalt while the dog struggled to hold his position.
A Quick Intervention
A man in a green shirt stepped out of his vehicle and ran along the edge of the bridge toward the struggling animal.
He dropped to his knees right at the barrier, leaning over the steep drop to reach the dog.
The dog looked up, barking as the man extended his arms over the concrete ledge.
With both hands, he grasped the dog under his front legs, lifting him upward to safety.
The dog’s weight shifted as the man pulled him completely over the concrete ledge and onto the solid pavement.
Safe and Sound
Shortly after the rescue, the dog sat upright in the passenger seat of the man’s car, watching the road ahead.
The man drove with both hands on the wheel, looking over at his new companion with a relaxed smile.
The golden pup sat tall, his ears perked up as the green hills rolled past the window.
