Hollywood Comes Together to Remember Hayden Panettiere in an Emotional Malibu Tribute

Friends, family members and former colleagues gathered in Malibu over the weekend to remember actress Hayden Panettiere, whose life and career touched audiences around the world.

The private celebration of life was held on September 19, about a month after Panettiere died at the age of 36. Around 80 people attended the intimate gathering, according to her representative.

A Night Filled With Memories and Music

The ceremony was described as an evening of music, memories, laughter and tears, giving those closest to Panettiere an opportunity to celebrate her life rather than focus solely on her death.

Several of her former Nashville co-stars attended, including Connie Britton, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio.

Esten, who worked alongside Panettiere on Nashville, also performed one of the songs associated with the series during the gathering.

A Meaningful Setting in Malibu

Malibu was chosen as the location for the tribute in part because of Panettiere’s love of the ocean and whales, according to reports.

The ceremony included symbolic moments, including a release of doves and the ringing of three bells.

Other familiar faces reported at the memorial included Ruby Rose, Paris Hilton and Evan Ross, among others.

Remembering Her Career

Panettiere became widely known for playing Claire Bennet on Heroes and later starred as Juliette Barnes on Nashville.

Her career also included appearances in films such as Remember the Titans and the Scream franchise.

For many fans, however, her most memorable roles were only part of the story. Friends and colleagues have continued to share memories of her personality, warmth and the relationships she built throughout her career.
