My Husband Refused to Help With Our Twins After I Broke My Arm—Then He Learned His Lesson

My Husband Said, “Moms Don’t Get Sick Days.” So I Took Our Twins and Left.

When I broke my arm, I asked Derek to help with our 5-month-old twins.

His answer?

“You wanted kids. You take care of them.”

He told me I stayed home and “did nothing all day,” even though I handled the feedings, diapers, sleepless nights, appointments, baths, meals, and everything else.

So I stopped arguing.

I packed the babies and went to my mother’s house.

Derek demanded that I come back and accused me of humiliating him when his family learned what happened.

Then he came to Mom’s and finally held one of our sons while I refused to rescue him.

“I don’t know what he wants,” he admitted.

“You usually know.”

“You make this look easy.”

“You told me I do nothing.”

That was the moment he finally realized how much I had been carrying every single day.
