A 47-year-old San Jose woman who went viral after accusing a father of sex trafficking his own daughter because they have different skin colors has now been arrested.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lindsay Hansen was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes, including stalking and hate crimes, after police connected her to the viral confrontation and several other incidents around San Jose.<\/p>\n

Investigators reportedly used automated license plate reader cameras to identify Hansen\u2019s vehicle after footage from the September 6 encounter spread online.<\/p>\n

Her bail was set at $10,000, although a court date was not immediately available.<\/p>\n

The incident that first brought Hansen widespread attention began when a San Jose father was walking through his neighborhood with his young daughter.<\/p>\n

The father\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0he is brown while his daughter is half-white. According to his account, Hansen approached them in her vehicle multiple times before he eventually started recording.<\/p>\n

In the video, Hansen leaned through the passenger-side window and claimed she had connections with federal authorities. \u201cI\u2019m recording you too. I work with the feds. Have a good day,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

But Hansen then explained why she had become suspicious of the father and child. She says, \u201cI\u2019m just making sure that you\u2019re not s*x trafficking this poor little girl who\u2019s very unhappy to be with you and doesn\u2019t look like you.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then made the racial basis of her accusation even more explicit, she goes on to say, \u201cThat\u2019s a white little girl and you are a man of color,\u201d adding, \u201cSo I believe you are either buying or selling or trafficking this child.\u201d<\/p>\n

The father later said Hansen had harassed him and his daughter more than once in their neighborhood, making the encounter appear to be part of a pattern rather than a one-time misunderstanding.<\/p>\n

The footage quickly exploded online, with Hansen being branded the Bay Area\u2019s latest \u201cracist Karen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ironically, the video that made her infamous also gave investigators something valuable; a clear view of her vehicle and license plate.<\/p>\n

A Psychiatrist Said Hansen Believed It Was Her Job To \u201cDrive Around And ID Pedophiles\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As people began digging into Hansen\u2019s background, reports revealed a far more complicated history.<\/p>\n

Hansen, who is also a mother, had reportedly maintained social media accounts filled with conspiracy theories, religious material and political content.<\/p>\n

Posts attributed to her included claims surrounding the Epstein files, antisemitic material and a bizarre suggestion involving Pope Leo XIV.<\/p>\n

She also reportedly claimed that the birth of her child in 2020 marked the beginning of the seven-year biblical tribulation, according to her interpretation of end-times events.<\/p>\n

But her fixation on supposed predators allegedly went back even further.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Hansen was held at Telecare Heritage Psychiatric Health Facility under a California 5250 psychiatric hold. She later publicly posted court documents related to the treatment.<\/p>\n

In a declaration filed that May, psychiatrist Dr. Shellie Kahane described Hansen as experiencing symptoms consistent with bipolar disorder and a manic episode with psychotic features.<\/p>\n

The filing described alleged delusions, auditory hallucinations and paranoia. Kahane also wrote that Hansen did not believe she was ill or needed medication.<\/p>\n

One line from the evaluation became especially striking after Hansen\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

The filing said Hansen had been prescribed Invega, an antipsychotic medication.<\/p>\n

Police Also Linked Hansen To An Incident At A San Jose High School<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The investigation didn\u2019t stop with the viral father-and-daughter confrontation.<\/p>\n

San Jose police said Hansen was also connected to an incident involving a local high school, where authorities alleged that a woman had been harassing members of school communities, recording and photographing people and posting the material online.<\/p>\n

The San Jose Unified School District subsequently warned families about the alleged behavior.<\/p>\n

Authorities said images circulating online appeared to show an adult woman who was not affiliated with the school entering a high school locker room.<\/p>\n

Reports indicated that Hansen had recorded inside a girls\u2019 locker room while making accusations involving school employees.<\/p>\n

Police did not initially release every allegation connected to the incident, but investigators said it became part of a broader examination of what they described as a \u201cseries of other incidents\u201d in San Jose.<\/p>\n

Eventually, detectives located Hansen in the city and arrested her.<\/p>\n

\u201cSJPD Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation into all reported incidents and subsequently located and arrested the suspect in the city of San Jose,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

The department also addressed the allegations circulating online, saying it remained committed to investigating reports of crimes affecting the community<\/p>\n
