A woman who nearly died after being struck by a truck at 18 claims she was carried toward a \u201cvery evil\u201d place before God intervened and left her with a life-changing warning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As an 18-year-old, LuAnn VanBuskirk was riding her bike through downtown Big Rapids, Michigan, when a mistake at a four-way intersection suddenly put her in the path of a truck, turning an ordinary day into an experience the now-61-year-old mother says completely changed what she believed about life, death and God.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

\u2018So still and so quiet\u2019<\/h2>\n

Speaking on God Encounters with Janie DuVall, VanBuskirk recalled hitting the pavement and realizing immediately that something was seriously wrong.<\/p>\n

Her body,\u00a0she said<\/a>, was left \u201cin a splat\u201d and \u201ccontorted\u201d on the road as an eerie calm settled over everything around her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018What am I going to do? Um, this is bad. I know this is really bad,\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cIt was just so still and so quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Then her perspective suddenly changed.<\/p>\n

VanBuskirk claims she found herself outside her body, looking down at the accident scene from above while people gathered around her below.<\/p>\n

But the experience she describes was far from the peaceful journey sometimes associated with near-death accounts.<\/p>\n

\u2018Nasty and gnarly\u2019 fingers<\/h2>\n

VanBuskirk said she suddenly became aware of something gripping her arm.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen suddenly I felt this hand, these fingers going around my arm, and I looked down and these fingers were nasty and gnarly,\u201d she recalled, adding that whatever had her, was \u201cclearly not angelic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know this is not going well for me. I know that I\u2019m going someplace I do not want to go,\u201d she recalled thinking.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust the fingers on that hand was a test, like testify to me that I am not in a good spot,\u201d she said of the eerie moment.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m going to hell\u2019<\/h2>\n

VanBuskirk said she was powerless to resist as the entity pulled her toward what appeared to be \u201ca very evil, wicked city\u201d that was covered in \u201chorrible yellow nasty smog\u201d \u2013 a place she interpreted as hell.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now I\u2019m going to hell based on my own free will choices,\u201d the former party girl recalled thinking.<\/p>\n

Then, she claims, everything changed again when thunder cracked and an overwhelming sound filled the experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a sound. It wasn\u2019t a voice. And when it spoke, it just shook me,\u201d VanBuskirk said, describing it as a sound that \u201creverberated.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when she claimed she was in the presence of God.<\/p>\n

\u2018Even the demons believe in Jesus\u2019<\/h2>\n

At the time, however, faith was something she had struggled with, but she tried to defend herself by saying, \u201cI know who Jesus is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Failing to persuade the presence, she explained that she then heard a response that came with a \u201cthunderous\u201d force: \u201cEverything in me just shook like a dead man twice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis sound said, \u2018Even the very demons believe in Jesus. How do you say you do better?\u2019\u201d she recalled hearing.<\/p>\n

For VanBuskirk, there was no easy response.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a moment of truth that I could not argue,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven the demons believe in Jesus. How do I say I do better than the demons? Demons aren\u2019t going to heaven,\u201d she said in the interview. \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh no, I am in really bad trouble.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

God turned back on her<\/h2>\n

VanBuskirk claims she was then forced to confront her life in extraordinary detail, reliving repeated refusals to accept Jesus along with the choices she regretted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was given every single opportunity to accept Jesus and I said no,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI\u2019m given another opportunity to accept Jesus and I said no, and it was opportunity after opportunity after opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen it was every sin I have ever committed. Every single one, not a one left out,\u201d she said, adding that during this chat session, she never saw God\u2019s face.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t see the face of God. I didn\u2019t see him in his entirety before he turned his back. I just saw he was turning and I only saw his back,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stood there just really feeling defeated that, am I that bad that God would turn his back on me?\u201d she recalled of the crushing moment. \u201cAnd it was just this moment of realizing, girl, you really messed up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then the experience stopped as abruptly as it had started.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then bam, the next thing I know, I am back in my body,\u201d she said, recalling her broken body being lifted into an ambulance.<\/p>\n

\u2018My word says\u2026.\u2019<\/h2>\n

More than four decades after the crash, VanBuskirk, who has since welcomed Jesus into her life, remains convinced that what happened to her at 18 carried a message about faith that she was meant to understand.<\/p>\n

Knowing about Jesus, she came to believe, was not enough on its own \u2013 a lesson she says was delivered to her with a warning she couldn\u2019t ignore.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy word says, unless you\u2019re born again, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven,\u201d she recalled of the message allegedly delivered to her by God.<\/p>\n
