Ana Obreg\u00f3n, 71, drew widespread attention when she used her deceased son\u2019s sperm to have his child after he died from cancer. Now, three years later, she has shared an update.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former actress sparked global debate when she honored her late son Aless Lequio\u2019s wishes by using his frozen sperm to conceive a child via surrogacy after he lost his battle with cancer. In 2023, she welcomed her granddaughter, Anita Sandra.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe girl isn\u2019t my daughter, she\u2019s my granddaughter. It was Aless\u2019 last wish to bring a child into the world,\u201d Obreg\u00f3n told \u00a1Hola! magazine after Anita was born.<\/p>\n

The baby was conceived using an egg donor, and since surrogacy is not legal in Spain, the procedure was carried out in the United States.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Daily Mail last year, she said: \u201cWe live our whole lives saying that we are eternal and nothing happens here. Suddenly, one day they tell you at 25 years old that you have an aggressive cancer,\u201d according to\u00a0UNILAD.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the story drew significant international attention. While some criticized the decision, others praised Obreg\u00f3n for fulfilling her son\u2019s final wish.<\/p>\n

Since Anita\u2019s birth, Obreg\u00f3n has largely focused on raising her granddaughter. In a social media post shared on Anita\u2019s birthday, she shared a heartfelt update.<\/p>\n

\u201c3 years ago today you were born. Three years ago today I came back to life by hugging you for the first time. Because in doing so, I also hugged a piece of your daddy.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve filled my dark world and my hell with lights, smiles, rubs, hugs, diapers, pacifiers and toys all over the house. You are good, smart, sensitive, and you have the same sense of humor as your Father.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cOne day I will tell you why you are here, I will tell you about the bravery of your Dad and the life lesson he gave us all. I\u2019ll tell you how much I dreamed of hugging you, caring for you and loving you even though now he does it from heaven. I pray to God that you have good health and are happy for many more years. Always together the three of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recently also shared a photo of Anita in a Superman costume alongside an old childhood picture of Aless, but chose to cover the young girl\u2019s face.<\/p>\n
