Peter Noone was one member of the popular 60\u2019s band, Herman\u2019s Hermits.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With his thick head of hair and boyish charm, it would be easy to compare him to a Justin Beiber or Harry Styles of today.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, there is one distinct difference between this former teen heartthrob and those of today\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

With his adorable face and equally adorable voice, Peter Noone skyrocketed to stardom in his teens as the frontman of Herman\u2019s Hermits. The band toured both in America and Britain\u00a0and became iconic.<\/p>\n

The band nabbed their first number 1 hit in England in 1964 with \u201cI\u2019m Into Something Good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was making fun of me, but who cares?\u201d\u00a0says\u00a0Noone. \u201cIt was Elvis!\u201d<\/p>\n

Even at this young age, Noone was living the quintessential rocker lifestyle.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough without the drugs bit,\u201d he insists. \u201cThat was never my thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

But when asked about all of the other typical rock \u2018n\u2019 roll habits?<\/p>\n

\u201cSure. We were 16, 17, and we could easily stay up all night, go on the rampage then be up the next morning to do interviews and go to gigs. It was a brilliant time.\u201d<\/p>\n

At 64, Noone is on the road again as part of Britain\u2019s Solid Silver 60s Show. His fellow Hermits veterans will not be joining him, but other musical star of the era will\u2013Brian Poole of The Tremeloes (\u201cDo You Love Me\u201d and \u201cTwist And Shout\u201d) and Brian Hyland (\u201cItsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini\u201d).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never get tired of the buzz of touring,\u2019 says Noone, \u2018and it\u2019s good to know we can still pull an audience. People come up to me and sing all the old songs to my face, although I\u2019m never really sure how to respond to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noone has lived in California since the 70\u2019s and grew quickly to the healthy living style that characterizes the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot many people survived the debauchery of the sixties,\u201d he says, \u201cso I feel very lucky and try to look after myself. When I went to Mickie Most\u2019s funeral nine years ago [Most was the band\u2019s producer and a panelist on TV talent show New Faces], there weren\u2019t many people left. It does make you stop and think.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember going to the house of one of the Moody Blues and it was considered this real den of iniquity,\u201d he says. \u201cNone of the girls smoked dope, so I used to hang out with them. I was a fly on the wall.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did like to drink \u2014 I used to go out with Richard Harris and try to drink more than him,\u201d Noone laughed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to love the Beatles and the Stones and I\u2019d always want to hang out with them, even though they were about seven years older.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d go to the Ad Lib club in London, and John Lennon would buy my drinks because he knew I was only 16 and I wouldn\u2019t get drunk and try to beat someone up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noone, who grew up in Manchester, has admitted that one of his major motivations for drinking was to fit in with the others, as he didn\u2019t feel that \u201cinteresting.\u201d<\/p>\n
